Marriage Contract Service

Articles 15 and 32 to 39 of Law No. 3 of August 1, 1957, relating to the organization of civil status.
Decree of August 13, 1956, promulgating the Personal Status Code and its amended texts.
Basic laws relating to active forces, customs agents, national army, and diplomatic agents.

Preparation and signing of the marriage contract by the concerned parties (the applicants – the two witnesses – the civil status officer).
Submission of a request by the applicants to the civil status officer accompanied by the required documents; based on this, the marriage date is set for the concerned parties (the spouses or their legal representatives by official proxy).

Birth certificate for each spouse.
Medical certificate for marriage.
Copy of the identity card or any other official document proving the identity of the spouses.
Court authorization for minors.
Written consent of the guardian for valid reasons if the spouse is absent at the conclusion of the marriage, for both the man and woman in the case of a minor marriage.
Death certificate of the spouse for widowers/widows.
Copy of the divorce judgment for divorced persons or birth certificate mentioning the divorce.
Authorization from the administration for those subject to prior authorization to marry (active forces, customs, national army, etc.).
Certificate from the consulate or diplomatic mission proving the possibility of marriage for foreigners.
Certificate of conversion to Islam for non-Muslims wishing to marry a Muslim Tunisian woman.
Presentation of the identity card for the two witnesses (with required legal conditions for each).
