Organizational Structure of the Municipality of Bekalta
Secretary General
Under the authority of the mayor and in accordance with Article 67 (new) of Law No. 43 of 1985, responsible for supervising the central registry office, coordinating the various municipal departments, and carrying out tasks assigned by the mayor.
Central Registry Office
Responsible for the registration and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail, document and archive management, and correspondence follow-up. It may also carry out other administrative tasks assigned by the Secretary General.
Municipal Regulation Control Office
Responsible for enforcing municipal decisions and cracking down on violations in all municipal areas, in cooperation with national security services, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Organization and IT Office
Responsible for implementing the national computerization program, particularly for municipalities as directed by the Ministry of the Interior, including the management of salaries, budgets, municipal taxes, archives, registry office, and civil status.
Social and Cultural Department
This department is responsible for the following tasks:
- Supporting educational, cultural, and social institutions
- Monitoring municipal cultural activities, kindergartens, youth clubs, and municipal grounds
- Managing youth and sports affairs
- Overseeing mosques, Quranic schools, schools, and high schools
- Supervising and controlling taxis, issuing permits and certificates, defining routes and stop locations
- Ensuring hygiene in public spaces, combating epidemics and noise pollution in coordination with the regional health service
Administrative and Financial Service
- Administrative section: Ensures the application of public service laws and regulations, manages personnel and municipal workers' affairs (recruitment, confirmation, follow-up)
- Financial section: Prepares and executes the budget, oversees management, publishes tenders, signs contracts, manages purchases, maintains municipal property, handles litigation, collects taxes and fees, and administers municipal assets
- Civil Status and Elections section: Registers births, deaths, and notarized marriages, issues documents, records changes, legalizes signatures, certifies copies, and updates electoral rolls
Technical Service
- Roads and Works Section: Maintains roads and sidewalks, extends the network, manages public lighting, maintains buildings, organizes work sites, supervises workers, maintains equipment, manages warehouses, handles seizures, and beautifies the city
- Urban Planning Section: Applies urban planning laws, monitors development plans, combats illegal construction, reviews subdivision and permit applications, and prepares technical and cost plans
Sanitation and Environment Service
Responsible for implementing municipal policy in matters of cleanliness, environmental protection, green space development, household, commercial and industrial waste collection and disposal, street watering, rubble removal, and cleaning and extending wastewater networks.
